Tyler loves life and loves helping people. He meets Katie, the love of his life, just before he starts high school. Tyler puts together a band with Katie as lead singer to showcase his songs. She becomes the object of desire for the school’s quarterback, who begins bullying Tyler. Rejected by friends who don’t want to be targeted for bullying, Tyler also struggles with the death of his beloved aunt. He expresses and distracts himself writing songs. A bandmate supplies him with pills to help him get by. Tyler’s dream of performing music with Katie to inspire people to love one another falls apart when her parents send her to boarding school across the country. Tyler increasingly turns to opioids. His wise message for the world becomes most important
to save himself.
